James Morrell

Morrell was born on 12 August 1907〔(Birthdate )〕 and educated at Dulwich College and King's College London.〔''Who’s Who''. London, A & C Black,1992 ISBN 0-7136-3514-2〕 He began his career with curacies at St Alphage, Hendon and St Michael and All Angels, Brighton after which he was the Bishop of Chichester's Chaplain and then a Lecturer for ''The Church of England Moral Welfare Council''. From here he went to be Vicar of Roffey 〔''Crockford's Clerical Directory 1975-76'' London: Oxford University Press, 1976 ISBN 0-19-200008-X〕 and then Archdeacon of Lewes before elevation to the Episcopate in 1959,〔The Times, Friday, Aug 07, 1959; pg. 10; Issue 54533; col C ''Bishop Suffragan Of Lewes''〕 serving eventually for eighteen years.〔Crockford's Clerical Directory (ibid)〕 He died on 28 March 1996.〔(Death date )〕
